Constitutional Facial Acupuncture (C.F.A.)

Sometimes called and Acupuncture Facelift, Constitutional Facial Acupuncture uses stimulation of acupuncture points and meridians on the face and neck to rejuvenate the health and thereby the appearance of the skin. No needles necessary! This treatment increases blood circulation to the skin and increases muscle tone. It is useful before and after surgical facelifts to get optimal results from those proceedures and to facilitate healing. One treatment can enliven a jet-lagged or fatigued face and a series of treatments does much more, giving, in my experience with my patients, a cumulative effect that is positive and noticable, quite and often elicits compliments. Needles may by used on the face, especially to address specifc problem areas or the facial points may also be addressed with tuning forks and semi-precious stones. Patients have imput in these decisions, as they are asked to identify what aspects of their faces they like most and which they think need work. But most often the treatment consists of microcurrent stimulation of the face and neck, using a disposable cotton probe. And some needling of points on the extremities is usually done. Herbal and warm gel facial masks are also employed. These facials are so soothing that patients commonly fall asleep on the table and wake refreshed at the end of the treatment.
